Toviah has no desire to be like her older sisters, a Defender and a Healer. She wants to live a normal, common life, away from the trappings that come with the Guardians and the Temple. But when her dearest friend dies on the eve of her wedding, she soon discovers that normal doesn’t always look the way she expected it to.
